Engaging the Next Generation: My Experience as a University Ambassador
As a University Ambassador at the University of Plymouth, I had the privilege of representing the institution and inspiring the next generation of students. One of my most memorable experiences was participating in the Career Day event, where I had the opportunity to showcase the fascinating world of engineering and technology.
My project, the inverted pendulum system, captivated the attention of high school students. I explained the underlying principles of physics and control systems that enable the system to maintain its balance. By demonstrating the system's ability to self-correct and remain upright, even when subjected to external disturbances, I sparked curiosity and ignited a passion for engineering in young minds.
Through interactive demonstrations and engaging explanations, I aimed to demystify complex concepts and make them accessible to a wider audience. The positive feedback and enthusiasm from the students were truly rewarding. This experience reaffirmed my commitment to sharing knowledge and inspiring future generations of engineers and scientists.
In addition to my ambassadorial role, I served as a Course Representative for my Autonomous Systems course. In this capacity, I actively engaged with fellow students, faculty, and university administration to address concerns, improve course delivery, and enhance the overall student experience. I organized study groups, facilitated discussions, and provided support to my peers, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
